The Purpose of This Program
and Steps for Meaningful Participation
1. Five-Week Challenge: A Commitment to Personal Growth
Forming meaningful and sustainable habits is never easy. But as Taoist wisdom reminds us, “even the tallest tower begins with a single mound of earth.” In Tai Chi and martial arts, this is mirrored by the idea that true skill is not born overnight—it is patiently cultivated through steady, repeated practice. In Western terms, it’s the power of small, consistent actions that lead to lasting transformation.
This five-week challenge invites you to take one small yet powerful step: show up for yourself. With Tai Chi as our tool, we aim to support both physical and inner growth through embodied learning and mindfulness.
Western counterpart: This aligns with behavioral psychology’s habit-loop theory and the growth mindset in education—both of which emphasize incremental progress over perfection.
2. Support from Tao Tai Chi Studio: Fair Opportunities to Stay Consistent
Five Thursday evenings might sound like a modest commitment, but in truth, it is a powerful act of self-empowerment. Our goal is not perfection, nor do we encourage excuses masked as reasons to quit. Instead, we strive to create fair, supportive conditions that make it easier for everyone to keep going.
Though martial skill is not our focus, the spirit behind Tai Chi—discipline, patience, balance—is very real. We believe these cross-disciplinary values can benefit each participant both on and off the mat.
To support your continued exploration, every student who registers will be invited to join one additional free class on a different theme, any time before August 15. This is not a reward for perfect attendance, but a meaningful opportunity to deepen your practice, regain rhythm if you miss a class, and stay engaged with the path.
3. Upholding the Project’s Spirit: Adaptive Solutions for Students & Tao Tai Chi Studio
