Continuing Your Learning at Tao Tai Chi Studio

A Guide to Available Programs & Weekly Rhythms

If you are reading this page, you have already begun your learning journey at Tao Tai Chi Studio.

Whether you recently completed an introductory program, have been studying for some time, or are returning after a break, this guide is here to help you understand the learning opportunities that are currently available and to plan your next step with confidence.

Everyone’s learning journey is different. Some students prefer a steady weekly rhythm, while others return seasonally or continue through private study. Rather than expecting everyone to follow the same path, I encourage students to choose the learning rhythm that best supports their current stage of life, interests, and long-term goals.

My role is not to decide your path for you, but to help you understand the options so that you can make thoughtful decisions about your own continuing practice.

The programs below are currently accepting registration.

Most Foundation Programs are open to both current students and returning students who would like to strengthen their fundamentals through continued practice.

Programs such as Earthing Tai Chi Course One, Earthing Tai Chi Course Two, Go with the Flow, and Seeking Balance Series welcome students who wish to continue building a steady relationship with Tai Chi through foundational practice.

Some continuing programs, including Monthly Guided Practice Sessions, selected Sunday Practice Classes, and Push Hands, are designed for students with previous experience or specific learning goals. Please refer to each program page for details.

Several programs also offer Flexible Entry, allowing students to join partway through a cycle when appropriate. Individual program pages explain how this works.

Need a schedule that fits your life?

Available by appointment.

Private instruction is ideal for students whose schedules do not match current group classes, who prefer one-to-one guidance, or who wish to study specific aspects of Tai Chi, Qigong, Push Hands, or traditional forms.

Family learning, small private groups, school programs, and customized learning experiences are also available.

Not every student learns best in the same way.

Some students enjoy beginning with private instruction before joining a group program.

Others continue combining private and group study throughout their learning journey.

If your interests or availability are better suited to individual study, you are always welcome to contact me. Together we can discuss a learning plan that supports your current goals.

Foundation Programs

Foundation Programs form the heart of the current learning system at Tao Tai Chi Studio.

These programs are designed to help students strengthen their relationship with Tai Chi through careful observation, consistent practice, and gradual understanding.

Although each program has its own rhythm and emphasis, they work together as one integrated Foundation System.

Current Foundation Programs include:

These are not different levels.

They are different learning pathways designed to support different schedules, learning styles, and personal goals.

You are welcome to choose the program that best matches where you are now.

Continuing Learning Communities

As students continue their practice, some choose to participate in ongoing small-group learning communities.

Unlike Foundation Programs, these continuing groups are not intended to follow a permanent fixed schedule.

Over time, students’ work, family responsibilities, interests, and learning goals naturally change. As those rhythms change, continuing groups may also evolve.

If you are interested in continuing beyond the Foundation Programs, or if you are looking for an advanced group that matches your current stage of learning, I encourage you to contact me.

When the timing, readiness, and shared learning goals are aligned, new continuing groups can often be developed together.

Seasonal Planning

Most programs are offered in seasonal learning cycles.

Whenever possible, future dates are announced while the current cycle is still in progress so that students have time to plan ahead.

I encourage students to think not only about this month’s practice, but also about how they would like to continue developing over the coming seasons.

A Final Thought

Tai Chi has been practiced for centuries.

There is no single right pace for learning.

Some people begin with a seasonal course.

Some return each year.

Some practice every week.

Others prefer private instruction.

My role is not to ask students to fit a program.

My role is to create thoughtful learning opportunities so that each person can begin, continue, or return to practice when the time feels right.

Thank you for visiting Tao Tai Chi Studio.

I look forward to practicing with you.
