Tao Tai Chi Studio

Tao Tai Chi Studio is a place for quiet, meditative training, in the art of Tai Chi. We are located in New Paltz NY, which is in the heart of the Hudson Valley and just minutes from Mohonk Mountain House and downtown New Paltz.

Large Group Classes take place at  Roost Studios & Gallery,  2nd floor, 69 Main Street, New Platz (>>Site)

Classes are designed for all level of Tai Chi students to practice the fundamentals in order to develop a healthy regimen. Each class is an independent theme. No experience necessary.   Rates: $15 for 1 class / $50 for 5 classes (3 months expiration)

The most convenient parking is available in the municipal lot, which is down the street from Starbucks, about 200 feet. Bring quarters.

Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior before a class if you plan to sign up for a class. 

Days: The first Wednesday of each month

5:00 -6:00 pm: Fan Painting

Class Description: Finding your way-the Tao of creativity through fan painting.

6:30 - 8:00 Pm: Fan Fair

Class Description: The Fan Fair will be held monthly after each Fan Painting workshop at the Roost Studio; This event is a new activity of this project which provides an opportunity for people who are open to experiencing different art forms.  Integration of “How to use a fan as a prop” will be discussed and samples of storytelling, poetry reading, and a fan movement will be demonstrated. An improvisational performance will be held.  The Fan Fair will be open to our small group of participants only, which always helps us feel more free to express ourselves.

Community Oriented Project: Tai Chi with Music 

Class Description: “Tai Chi with Music” incorporates your favorite music of the 60's, 70's and 80's into this fun series of classes to help you learn and master basic Tai Chi movements. 

Jing would like to support local non-profit organizations 

Jing is willing to offer this program as a fundraiser for your organization.  If you are a member of a non-profit orginanization which is involved in music, therapy, environmental or humanitarian related causes,  I'd like to work with your group on a small fund raiser.  Please feel free to Text Jing Shuai* at (845) 214-8579.

*Jing Shuai, is a 16th generation protégé to the ancient Chinese Wu Dang San Feng martial arts lineage.  Jing's master *Chen Shi Xing is a successor of the Wudang San Feng School and founded the Wu Dang Kung Fu Academy in China.  Jing is also a Tai Chi instructor certified by the Mainland China Martial Arts Association.   > Read More about Jing Shuai
